THL Gourmet Foods Inc. is one of the leading importers and distributors of Asian food products from the Pacific Rim and other regions of the world. To fulfill our operational needs, we are currently recruiting a 5-Ton Truck Driver to make local deliveries for our BC division.

Position Summary:

We are currently recruiting a Full-time Truck Driver (Class 5) to support our BC operations with local, home-daily deliveries across Vancouver Island, including Nanaimo and Victoria.

In this role, you will operate a 5-ton truck delivering products to restaurants and retail stores. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the road, staying active, and providing friendly, reliable service to customers—while being part of a safety-focused and supportive team.

Working Hours:

• Monday to Saturday, between 7:00am to 6:00pm
• 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a 5-ton straight truck in accordance with company policies and the Motor Vehicle Act
• Complete local deliveries to restaurants and grocery stores, ensuring accuracy and customer satisfaction
• Load and unload products according to delivery schedules (mechanical equipment such as lift gates and power jacks used whenever possible)
• Provide professional, friendly customer service at each delivery location
• Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns
• Verify delivery orders and obtain customer confirmations/signatures
• Collect COD payments (cash or cheque) when required
• Work collaboratively with Dispatch, Warehouse, and Maintenance teams

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving abstract
• Previous delivery or commercial driving experience preferred (training provided for the right candidate)
• Comfortable operating a 5-ton truck
• Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Basic English communication skills sufficient for safety, customer interaction, and documentation
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
• Strong reliability, safety awareness, and customer service mindset

Assets/ Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience operating 5-ton trucks
• Familiarity with lift gates, electric power jacks, or hand pump jacks
• Experience with food service or retail deliveries

Compensation & Benefits:

• Expected Gross Hourly Wage: $17.94 – $27.96, based on experience
