Machine Operator

Trimseal was founded in 1968 and has grown into North America`s leading supplier of custom binders, menu covers and promotional products. We are currently seeking a machine operator.  The role of machine operator would include running of sheeter and guillotine equipment, among others. The position will also assist with various tasks in our busy production facility.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, able to work well under pressure, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work as a team player.

Main task: Cutting/trimming paper/vinyl/polypropylene on our sheeter and guillotine.

Job Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, or tend machines that cut or slice materials, such as vinyl, polypropylene, cardboard and paper.
• Review work order specifications to determine size and number of cuts to minimize waste.
• Examine cut material for any imperfections and adjust cutting as needed.
• Remove finished or pre-finished material from the cutter bed and stack on pallets for shipment to the customer or next operation.
• Load and unload items from machines, dollies and trucks.
• Ensure proper labeling of finished items and ensure that they are packaged properly.

Required Skills

• Guillotine or Bindery: asset but not required.

• Attention to Detail - Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
• Good organizational, interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
• Ability to perform a variety of tasks quickly and accurately.
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently.

• Forklift experience or License is an asset., but not required.
• Ability to speak Cantonese/Mandarin would be an asset but not a requirement.

Occupational Requirements:

• Ability to stand for up to 4-5 hrs.
• Ability to lift/move up to 20 kg.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities consistent with the job posting.
