Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Lab Assistant is responsible for providing support to the Weighing, Digestion and Logistics departments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Use correct methods in accordance with established procedures and schedules.

- Adhere to safe laboratory practices by working in accordance with the MSALABS Health and Safety program.

- Coordinate location, retrieval and return of boxes between the Logistics and Weighing departments.

- Perform general laboratory tasks including, but not limited to: washing vessels, glassware and other laboratory apparatus, bulking up and transferring solutions.

- Maintain the cleanliness of department work stations and equipment.

- Neutralize laboratory waste and dispose of waste in accordance with local waste disposal regulations.

- Verify and record calibration of equipment as needed.

- Perform other duties as required by Management
