Electrician/ Maintenance Mechanic

Global Gourmet Foods is a federally registered food manufacturer who supplies premium products to key accounts in both domestic and export markets. We are looking for dynamic individuals to join our fast-growing company.

We now have a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Electrician and Maintenance Mechanic to join our team, who is responsible for install, service and maintain all building electrical systems within the facilities, reporting to Maintenance Supervisor.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

• Install, troubleshoot and perform preventative and predictive maintenance on machinery in an efficient and timely manner
• Interpret and understand electrical and blueprint drawings, electronic circuits and provide instructions and material estimates for the repair project as requested
• Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs, VFDs, motor control circuits, HMI, sensors, conveyor gear drive and load cells
• Perform maintenance on all building electrical systems - lighting, power outlets, breaker panels and disconnects
• Continually improve plant equipment functions as directed
• Occasionally perform maintenance in extreme cold conditions (i.e. inside Walk-In Freezers) to maintain evaporator fan motors and lighting
• other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Certified Journeyman electrician
• A FSR B ticket holder with knowledge of the Electrical Code Book and safety requirements is an asset
• Experience in the Food Manufacturing Industry
• Must have mechanical skills
• Must have experience with PLCs, VFDs, HMI, sensors, conveyor gear drive and load cells
• Knowledge of Forklift troubleshooting and repair, Arc flash safety and refrigeration experience
• Knowledge of AC systems from 110V to 600V 3ph
• Must have good computer skills (Microsoft Office) and a working knowledge of PLC software and drives
• Ability prioritize and have a keen eye for deficiencies and take appropriate remedial action immediately
• Ability to self-motivate, work independently and co-operatively with the maintenance team in each area of expertise
• Ability to work day-shift but also will be required to work part weekends and occasional overtime
