Assistant Accountant is Needed for an Accounting and Tax-filing Firm

VR eTax Centre Inc. is a small, but well-operated accounting and tax-filing firm. Currently, we have an opening for an assistant accountant to be filled by a qualified candidate.

Responsibilities:

• Use QuickBooks to do full cycle bookkeeping for clients in various industries, including payroll, ROE, GST, PST, T4, T5 preparations.
• File personal tax returns and corporate tax returns.
• Prepare financial statements.
• Answer clients’ enquiries by phone, email and other communication means.
• Contact government agencies (CRA, BC Finance, etc.) to deal with tax and other issues for clients.
• Perform general office duties.

Qualifications:

• A diploma or a degree in accounting major from a recognized institution, college or university is a must.
• Fluency in BOTH English and Chinese Mandarin reading, speaking & writing is mandatory. Being able to understand and speak Cantonese is an asset but not required.
• Excellent computer skills, i.e., being able to use Windows, MS Word & Excel to do various office jobs.
• Good client services skills.
• Ability to learn and memorize quickly as well as pay attention to details.
• Willingness to work in a small but very friendly environment on a long-term basis.
• 1-2 years related work experience is definitely an asset, however, we will also consider to train an otherwise qualified candidate who lacks related experience.
